Community Cultural Action Plan

In 2024, Banum Warrik and Gilgai Plains Primary School’s Student Leadership Teams collaborated to create a Community Cultural Action Plan. This plan promotes positive attitudes and behaviour at school, but more importantly in our Kalkallo community. Check out their fantastic work.

We are thrilled to announce our partnership with School’s OUT! – our OHSC provider.

School’s OUT! have a deep commitment to building strong relationships with the school community, offer value for money, a quality of program and provide reliable, stable staff.

Hiring of School Facilities

Banum Warrik Primary School Gymnasium Hire Information

Banum Warrik Primary School is proud to offer our fantastic gymnasium for use by both the school and the broader community. The facility can be hired outside of normal school hours for suitable purposes, in alignment with our school values.

To Apply for Gymnasium Hire:

  1. Submit Your Request: Complete the Application for Hire form and return it to the school office.
  2. Approval Process: All requests will be reviewed and must be approved by the School Council.
  3. Contract: If your request is approved, you will be required to enter into a contract outlining the terms of use.

Enrolment Information

Thank you for your interest in Banum Warrik Primary School.

Our School’s Designated Neighbourhood

Currently, all public schools have designated zones. You can check your school zone at www.findmyschool.vic.gov.au using your residential address.

Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined based on your permanent residential address.

Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school.

Eligibility to enrol in a Victorian government school

To enrol in a Victorian government school, an applicant must:

  • be an Australian citizen, or a student with relevant specified visas or Immicard. Refer to: International Student Program (ISP)
  • meet the age eligibility requirements set out in these Guidelines (based on the requirements set out in the Education and Training Reform Act (2006) and Education and Training Reform Regulations 2017 (Vic).

Enrolment Process

Once we verify that your address is within our school zone, we will request you to complete an enrolment form and return it to us. You can either pick up the form from our admin team at the office between 8 AM and 4 PM, Monday to Friday, or we can send it to you via email. When returning the form, please include the following supporting documents:

  • Birth Certificate or Passport
  • Visa information (e.g., visa subclass number for overseas students and residency status—temporary or permanent)
  • Immunization Certificate
  • Any Medical action plans (e.g.: Asthma, Allergies, Anaphylaxis)
  • Court orders or other care arrangements.

After we receive your completed enrolment form and supporting documents, we will arrange a time for you and your child to come in for an interview with either our Assistant Principal, Amy, or our Principal, Anthony.

If your application Is for Foundation 2026 these interviews and school tours will be held later in the year.
